Happy result!
I've had astragate.net as an email host for more than 15 years. It was a local-to-the-Bay-Area ISP that has since been eaten by a larger company, but keeps some local offices. One of these is a billing line in the 408 area that will also do support. Going thru the main company has resulted in no positive results, while using the local number gets stuff done.
At the start of January, the main company changed its email proceedure ... without notice. Nothing on the website ... and no incoming email for me. So I called the local number after a week, chatted with the tech and he walked me thru fixing the incoming/outgoing email. He commented that what I was paying was way more than what it should cost [$135 down to $12 a year] with a change of plan name for the same services.
Called in again today to verify that the $12 bill I got in the mail was the yearly bill [yup] and the same tech asked about email. Outgoing still didn't work & he suggested I switch to a different incoming port. I did and -yay- outgoing email. I would hug him if I could.
