Back from the Reno trip. Bad traffic there - terrible traffic back - but Reno and the Peppermill were both wonderful.

Yepperz...it's all in the timing, really. I always try to make sure I drive during non-commute hours. Glad you had fun!

This was during non-commute hours. ^_^ The road construction between Truckee and Reno is very extensive and caused a lot of stoppage both ways - but early afternoon traffic from Sacramento was also ghastly ... possibly due to the 49er game. [we got home at 4pm]

Well, now you're all primed up for Worldcon next year, right? The major events will be in the Peppermill, as I understand it.

If so then you have a wonderful site to look forward to. The Peppermill is extremely nice & the food available is wonderful. We didn't need [or want] to leave to eat anywhere else the entire time we were there.

The only challenge as I see it will be getting back and forth between there and the Convention Center, where the daytime stuff will happen. I'm usually not troubled by the roughly 800 m walk between the properties, but not in 40C heat. Even I will be apt to use the expected shuttle buses. I probably will book in to the Atlantis to be closer to the daytime events.
