Osama bin Laden is dead. Yippee. Will the gov't please get the heck out of Iraq, Afghanistan and -Libya!- NOW?! Can we please have our civil rights back?

Your sentiment is echoed by many, but it aint gonna happen...it took too long to get him, and the al-Quaeda has now had a decade to decentralize and scatter itself.

I strongly agree that the U.S. presence Middle East is doing absolutely nothing, however. That region of the world will never stabilize, and we're only there because of the oil. Seriously, if you look at the whole history of the region, I haven't seen a single news story, ever, of any concrete evidence that the U.S. presence has actually helped the area.

It doesn't matter much anyway...sometime within our lifetime, perhaps even within the next decade, the U.S. is going to default on some foreign debt, which will throw in a whole new turmoil to the government.

Civil rights are so Web 1.0, apparently. I wonder if I can get an EU passport...

No freaking kidding! I swear the best reason to be [or remain] a Repulican is so I can vote against the worst wing nuts that get on the ballot. There =are= some decent folk in the party - like Tom Campbell - but since he doesn't pander, he doesn't get the big bucks.
