Lessee - did the FC budget meeting, then went to the Oakland Zoo for the 1st time ever Saturday with a friendly group. NIFTY animals! The tigers were lovely, the meerkats sooo cute I wanted to help them escape. The zoo itself is very nicely designed IMHO. And we had a chance to see Oliver Otter [Eric of FC fame, visiting from AZ] who told us interesting info about the various displays.

Sunday was a TOM game and I had fun playing Thorn. It may just have been an illusion [in which case, kudos to Tom] but there was some extra depth in the game. The interactions with Loki were mostly okay [trying to snarf the artfiact sword, Fury, was too much but a DI to Athena fixed that]. Only way it could've been better would've been if Lars was there to play Clio, because her input was important. Again there was a treasure split and again Thorn ended up not getting any of his faves [at 6th down, this was the best I've rolled for him yet].

Then on Monday it was Trey's birthday -and- we bought a Toyota Prius. The birthday was reasonably nice. The Prius purty: silver exterior, grey cloth interior. [I really like cloth interiors. Cloth is much more durable than leather, doesn't fry one's skin on a hot day and it someone -does- rip the seat - by sitting on it with an open pocketknife, for instance - a deft hand can sew the cut shut with tiny stitches so well that the repair is not visible.] I hope the new vehicle matches expectations.

Ernie's visiting from Colorado and we've gone out to see a couple movies, done 2 dinners & 2 lunches. He is adorable and fun to be around. It is VERY nice to have a chum that we can hang around, go see fun things with and have occupy the couch, typing on his laptop while I'm over here typing on my own. Comfortable silence and gaming advice is fun.

Now if only it wasn't so hot [with hotter forcast for tomorrow.] But we drive down south tomorrow, so maybe it'll be less hellish there.

Sorry I wasn't there for the game, I should return in August (as long as its not on the 21st).

Congratulations on your new car! Did you get the fully loaded version, with NAV system and all?

Also, I don't know if Trey bought the platinum extended warranty or not, or if he was even interested, but if he did and paid more than $985 for it, send him back to the dealer to cancel it and have him talk to me...I can tell him how to get a legitimate 7 yr/100,000k Platinum for that price.

We did get the fully loaded system. (At my insistence. [livejournal.com profile] melchar didn't want to spring for the the extra cost, but I am loving the GPS, etc.) We didn't get any extensions over the default dealer warranty -- which still seems pretty good. If you know about something special that makes an extra warranty more of a value than a rip-off, let me know, but I expect I will be hard to convince.
