The summer vacation
Jul. 17th, 2006 02:34 pmOkay, so we're back from So.Calif and survived the trip. The drive down and back managed to avoid any major traffic problems. [yay!]
Family was great to be around on his side and there were no loud screaming bouts on my side this time. The weather was foul and hot. The nieces and nephew are adorable; a joy to be around. Visiting theme parks with them was quite fun, even tho the slogging temperature was 92-94 both days. IMHO Knotts was a better visit than Disneyland, even tho I left the park bruised from overly-vigorous roller-coasters.
Lack of connectivity is, as usual, one of the low spots of the trip. Another low spot is getting home and having to do the unpack/cleaning/mail that we brought home/or has stacked up, waiting for me. That's almost taken care of now. [Except for vast piles of laundry that await on Wednesday.]
Next, must get the tiling/painting work resumed - and hope the heat -here- stops being in the high 90's.
