Getting Better
Jan. 10th, 2010 02:28 pmSo the mucus-monster has lessened its grip** and I had the WEIRDEST experience. Friday I am wakened at 5-ish AM by agony. Intense, throbbing, stabbing migraine pain. I thrash around until around 7 AM, trying stretching exercizes, steaming my head, hot packs, a cold pack, taking Midol and antihystimines: anything that has helped in any way in the past, because I really want to get more sleep. Nothing.
At 7-ish, gil_liant wakes up and spends an hour massaging my head, shoulders - and I am able to actually get to sleep. I wake at 1 PM, still in lots of pain, but it's lost the full agony edge. The -weird- part of it was - that during the worst pain episodes, all of my head cold symptoms would vanish. No congestion, mucus, anything. Then the pain would ebb and the cold would descend on me again.
So I played 'try to abate migraine' tag-teamed with the 'hack, cough, mucus marathon'. Slept and woke with that 'walking of eggshell' feeling Saturday = the migraine gone, leaving mild headache and muscle pain behind ... and the head cold was WAY less. It was like the migraine frightened most of the cold away. ^_^ And now today, I feel SO much improved. Actually human. [**Albeit 'human' with a far milder cold.]
