I loathe Windows 8.1

I went thru a lot of effort to get Win 8.1 to work. It worked about a week. Then an update for Firefox hit - didn't work - and problems happened, tracked down to the Firefox update not being compatible with Win 8.1. Reverted to an earlier Firefox. Mumble was updated - didn't work - problems happened, tracked down & the Mumble update was not compatible with Win 8.1. Reverted to an earlier Mumble. Then the weekly update for SWTOR hit - didn't work - and the prior version was prevented from working.

THAT was it. Got a new hard drive. Installed Win 7. Have been installing the endless updates for it. 9 hours Friday. 5 hours so far today. More to come. But at the end of it, I should have a system that does not break constantly.
