There have been better weeks
Aug. 12th, 2021 06:05 amthe last couple weeks in brief:
July 31 = Went outside [for the 15th time since Feb 2020] wrapped up in clothing from head to toe & slathered in sunscreen to see the San Jose Giants minor league baseball team play a game. It was an outing with BASFA, our scifi club, where we infested the shaded first base side luxury club area. It was quite nice. They had a private buffet for us that offered hamburgers, pulled BBQ pork & beef brisket, as well as unlimited water/soft drinks. The evening ended with the home team winning in the 10th inning. Very nice!
Less nice was that our 17-year-old Prius was totalled in an accident on August 5, while stopped for a signal that a car ran a red light at, hit a car, then bounced off & hit our car and another. All 4 cars were towed & the only one injured was the offending car's driver. The rental we now have is partly-paid for roughly a month.
Plus now I'll stop numbering each time I leave the house, since the live table games have restarted: 2nd ed AD&D on Saturday/August 7 & my Agris game on Sunday/August 8. The games went well!
Then car shopping - outside in the Big Blue Room on Monday the 9th. I've done research on hybrids and am leaning towards the Camry - but must visit, sit in car & drive them. Plus it would be NICE if the insurance folk let us know if any part of the cost will be defrayed.
