'Free at last, free at last!'
So Further Confusion 2006 is over, finished and I've cleaned up after it [at home, at any rate]. All in all, everything went well: the Events track went more smoothly than ever before & most of the problems stayed out of public view. Whew!
Spent the day cleaning up, putting things away, doing mail & getting a change to get online. [5 days without computer access was almost enough to give me the shakes.] Have caught up on email & the web-comics I follow.
Then, reading my gmail email at 6:15pm I see a note from Nye [in my writer's group] saying she can't wait for the writer's group. Tonight. At 7pm. Full bore panic because I had completely forgotten about it! Eep!
But I managed to get dinner prepared for me/Trey just in time, made tea for the gals and set out the tin of Doubletree cookies the hotel gave me [gave all the FC execs at the Thursday morning meeting] - so the writer's group went well. Again whew!

Congratulations on the job well done!!!!
Congrats on a successful con!
I'm ramping up to something similar - getting ready to head to Spain once again for the last and major "push" to finish this set of system manuals. We'll be leaving on the 9th of Feb, and touching down in Seville mid-morning on the 10th. Going to be in place there until the first week in March, and hopefully touching down back in the Springs around the 9th of March.
Right now, we're very much into the frantic last minute activities.
Hopefully, we'll have regular-enough internet access there to not create any serious lags in posts and replies. But I won't know for sure until we check in at the hotel. It _claims_ to have complementary internet in the rooms, but the last also claimed to have WiFi in the common areas - and that proved not to be true. Luckily, internet 'cafes' and such appear to be rather common in Seville, so that could serve as a backup plan.
Well, enjoy what 'down time' you can after all the con activities!

I'm restraining myself from something foolish at the moment.
But I may not be able to keep that up.
One of the questions after the "Renai-WHAT?" panel was "so why was this panel on the schedule in the first place?" The asker just didn't quite get the idea of theme panels to support writers, artists and people who are just generally interested.
So...
Depending on what I hear about events/programming, I may (more a might than a may) volunteer to head a "theme" track (assuming spies as the theme), with theme panels grouped together and tagged for writer/artist/general/suiter/whatever.
My only real concern is that my connections in furry fandom are pretty limited.
When does events/programming really get started? Just, you know, so I can plan to avoid actually doing this.

Actual lists of _panels_ per track are expected by July - but unfortunately [in my 2 cases] usually trickled in around September. With some panel tracks actually being sent in around Xmas [spirituality & tech this time].
Then the last-minute changes happen at a rate of about 1 or 2 a day all through January - until the Tuesday before the con starts.
