new game obsession

melcharAm recovering from the head cold & hope my voice will be back to normal by the weekend [for refereeing both days]. And am now playing 'Knights of the Old Republic', trying for a complete lightside PC and a darksider. The game is a TON of fun.
However, I have a serious case of WTF-itis about the backstory there. OK, so this is supposed to be 4,000 years befor the events in the film. Huh? Makes no sense. This would assume there has been no effective change in fashion, tech, ships or most of ANYthing that whole time. Plus the galactic civ is supposed to be thousands of years old -then-. Now _I_ can get away with this silliness in Gaea because of magic & the fantasy rpg setting. 'Star Wars' is supposed to be sf. Now if they said it was _400_ years, I could believe it a lot more. But we are talking MAJOR suspension of disbelief here.
