The game's the thing

There are times that I think I'm going through a 12-year-old-boy adolescent phase. I want to game all the time, especially PS2 and computer games. [shakes head]

Perhaps you should look into entering tournaments and maybe winning a prize or two :)

Do they have categories for the 'not particularly deft'?

Hey there that cause you drained it from me. I never did play too many video games hehehe j/k

Hey I will be in town OCT 15th-ish I have a video game that belongs to you. The racoon bandit one.

Perhaps we could arrange to swap games. I miss my groovy commentary from ASH.

Absolutely.

LOL... you an' me BOTH, sister! I'd be bankrupt if it weren't for Gamefly, seriously...

I'm into the 60+ hours rpgs where I want to find every chest and do every quest. Sometimes several time, if the background story is well done. [must buy the good games!]

Star Ocean 3!!

If you haven't played it, get it NOW.

[making note; add to my buy list; make note to visit 'game FAQs'] I've seen the ads for it and it looks well-designed. From your recommendation, I take it that the game-play does not disappoint?

It managed to at least temporarily bump Chrono Trigger from my #1 RPG spot. Star Ocean 2 was a lot of fun also, if you've never played it.

Never heard of the series before this. I have now read that playing the earlier versions are not needed to play SO 3 [sort of like how many of the Shin Megami Tenchi series are stand-alones]. But the reviews of SO 3 are very favorable. I hope I can find a copy of it at the local EB Games.

Indeed. But there are soo many games that LOOK fantastic, but really aren't worth the $60, and I can usually elect to buy them through GameFly if I want to keep them. It's nice. And as far as replay... FFVI (originally released as FFIII in the US) is my fav game of all time, and I've replayed it WELL into the double digits, lol. I want them to remaster it SO BAD!

[identity profile] melchar.livejournal.com 2006-09-06 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't tried that one yet. I do intensely love FF7 [best story, ever IMO], think FFX has the best-EVAR graphics [and it is in my top 5 favorites]. Plus I really like Shin Megami Tenshi Nocturne; Shadowhearts 1 [2 is only so-so] - and have a real soft spot for Alpha Centauri [a PC game]

So many games, so little time

Excellent!

And what's wrong with that?

(well, what's wrong with it in MY case is discovering that I no longer have the reflexes of a teenager, or even late-20s person. I can't beat up people in Battle Arena Toshinden with NEARLY the same reliability...)

Heh heh - I've -never- had the reflexes of a teenager - always been pretty darned clumsy. So 'twitch' games and 'active battle screens' are anathema to me, just because I'm terrible at them.

There are Never Enough Games. Only Too Little Time. :)

[nods] You are SO right!
