random thought

Was thinking of characters that annoyed me the first time I saw a movie - that I loved all subsequent times I saw the same movie.

For instance, Ruby Rod [5th Element], Merlin [Excalibur] and Larry [Weekend at Bernie's] - were characters that I loathed on first seeing each movie - but are characters that I -love- in all further showings of the movies. Weird. ^_^

How about some of the characters in "Office Space"...Milton, for instance?

On a slight tangent, the first time I heard the songs from Annie (the Broadway version) the only one I liked was Little Girls. Now it's the one I hit the "next track" button for.

It wont happen with the second generation Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies. Everytime I watch him he pisses me off

That could just be because he utterly lacks the charm of the original actor in the role.

Huh. The Fith Element....I HATED the chick (Mila Jovavich...don't remember her character's name.) Female perfection is a gibbering, near-naked girl with the figure of a twelve year old boy? HUH? Anyway, now the character crax my shit up. "Multi-pass!"

[nods] She also annoyed me [and I disliked/dislike the name 'Leeloo' to this day], but I didn't loathe her like I loathed Ruby Rod. I can -remember- the loathing, but one 2nd [and further] viewings, I love him - and the 'multi-pass!' line that she uses cracks me up every time.

I wish they'd given her more fight-time on-screen, but appreciated what they were trying to do with the character. [and I love Korben].

IMO the city design for '5th Element' is one of the best for a high density city - ever.
