All in all, I wish I were home

Down in Southern California. [Sigh] Missing Trey. Helping Lois recover from back surgery [which is a lot of up and down the stairs, with extra stairs thrown in, as I do the housework, cooking, laundry - while checking on her at least hourly during the day. There's lot of doing exercizes [slowly increasing various muscle exercizes] and accompanying her around to make sure she walks. Timing to let her have some time sitting up [but not too much], doing tests on her blood sugar [ewww!]; animal caring for - plant watering and bouquet consolidation(!). And providing someone for her to talk to. A lot. ^_^ I've timed it that out of every waking hour, I'm on 'my own' for about 15 minutes of it. Astonishing how much time just -getting well- takes a person.

But such a Mitzvah. Lots of good karma points for this one.
*hugs*

It helps that she is totally worth helping. Lois is the sweetest, nicest woman in the world. I would have loved having her as a mom or an aunt. I am very -very- happy that the surgery and healing process for her are going on with an absolute minimum of pain, too.

Believe me, I sympathize. I went through the same thing with Dad after his hip replacement. Fortunately, my brother is also in the area, so we split the days.

Well right now is a insane time for her kids. Trey is working [natch], the one daughter has 3 kids and is in Texas, the other daughter has just opened up a vet/doggie daycare shop and sleeps there half the time [and still manages to swing by here 2-3 times a day for maybe 20 minutes - and the other son is pulling 10-12 hour days as a manager where they are building a new franchise that opens next month and so has virtually no free time.

Thankfully, I had the time to spend 10 days here. Her boyfriend ^_^ [male chum? gentleman friend who is a knight in durable armor?] was here for her before me - and gets here again the day before I go back home. He's wonderful, too.

But I sure miss Trey.

Mom is 'quality folks' -- and such people tend to attract other quality folks into their life. FA is a really good guy.

And you're included in that number, too. :) Thanks for helping.
