Just jawing
Jun. 25th, 2008 11:20 pmCooler weather now, so happier. It's been 10 days since the extraction and I go back to the dentist [jaw specialist] tomorrow morn to make sure it's all healing up right. Most of the pain has ebbed - but the -hole- is there and it bothers me. When I lost the -other- tooth 30 years ago the gum receded almost immediately and the jaw smoothed out. This feels like my jaw is waiting for the tooth to come back. Kind of creepy.

Date: 2008-06-26 02:03 pm (UTC)That tooth situation does sound strange. But at least the pain is going, and that's a good thing. Just think, now you can be a "special agent" and smuggle micro-film in your jaw. Just put a fake cap over the hole. *chuckles*
Wish I could get out there for the holiday, but company couldn't complete the process for the new clearance. So will have to wait until next meeting for a possible visit. Luckily, there's a chance of that happening before end of July, so wuff is looking forward to the possibility.
Good luck out there!

Date: 2008-06-26 10:34 pm (UTC)I had a tooth extracted last year (they pulled one of my 6-years to let my wisdom grow in as it looked like it was growing well at the time, but it grew in in halves and it would have taken a root canal to salvage it) and the space STILL bugs me. Maybe it's because my mouth is lopsided in the back now. I don't know.
MOUTH STUFF IS WEIRD.
Trip Update
Date: 2008-06-27 02:37 pm (UTC)So I'll be flying out bright and early tomorrow morning (Saturday). Due to touch down around 9:30 AM at SJC. Currently planning on leaving on Monday, 7 July, around mid-day.

Date: 2008-06-30 06:29 am (UTC)Maybe because it is the top, upper back left molar, but the hole is just being such a pain! Stuff keeps hiding there, the gum is tender, the jaw still sore around the jaw hinge - and the dentist says -this- is normal. Gick! It just feels so wrong.
[Shakes head at this - and is glad the pain has faded so much. But -still- - this just reminds me of how my dad used to joke about how 'his side of the family' was built with bargain-basement parts and that -my- teeth were 'K-mart' blue light specials. ^_^]
