Reno

The drive up to Reno was pretty good. Myself, gil_liant [taking me here for 23rd year anniversary]; boojumbunn & shadowcatt-x [treating booj for his bday] in our Prius made good time [left at 4pm, in at 8:45] and the drive was mostly pleasant. High cross-winds in a couple of places [bridges mostly], but I wasn't going -fast- when they hit, so that was OK. We're at the Peppermill and it has been WAY remodeled. It's lovely.

Man i hope so. Last time I stayed there I said to myself, "don't stay here anymore." that's all I said because I was mad at myself and wasn't speaking to me that night.

The interior is much improved, the various eateries have quite yummy food - and there is a new BBQ place - and they've remodelled/repaired their entire pool area. Very nice.

Be sure to check out everything there and at the Atlantis as well as the convention center, in preparation for the 2011 Worldcon. Me, I'll probably try to stay at the Atlantis during Reno's Worldcon -- although I'm certainly capable of walking a km between the properties, it's not something I want to do in August's heat.
