So it's been the hop-along adventures of the limping pair! Trey may have a [my guess and supported by the pain] repetative-stress ankle injury. He stumbled a bit a few days ago, continued to 'DDR' for a few days and then yesterday morning had incredible pain in the ankle and top-of-the-foot region. So he didn't go into work.

Calls were made to Kaiser. He didn't want to go in -that- day. Various care taken of it at home and errands run. On the way back, I managed to twist -my- ankle in the Safeway parking lot. So now I'm limping too.

Then at midnight the pain wakes Trey up and we go in to Kaiser to have it Xray'd. Sat around till 4am until he was seen. [no -really- obvious break] So he is issued crutches, the Xrays are passed on to the experts [who will examine and hopefully get back to his doctor and then us by Monday] - and we hobbled back home to collapse in bed at 6am.

Of -course- that means we get 3 phone calls between 8am and 11am. [sighs] AND Trey has an owie tooth so we take him over to the dentist for a 2pm appointment. Turns out he has a cracked tooth that will need a crown [another app't for next month there].

So it's been REAL 'fun' here the last 2 days.

Ouch! Having had more than a few "leg joint" problems, I can definitely empathize with what the two of your were going through. My problems were in the knee, but the pain is much the same no matter where it's located.

You two take real darn good care going up and down those front stairs, expecially on crutches! A tumble on the padded stairway inside would be unpleasant, but on those concrete ones outside - *shudders* - don't want to think about it!

Gee, and tooth problems too! Youch! Sounds like you two are 'catching' what I'd had. Didn't know that toothaches were contageous. *chuckles*

Sure hope there's no breaks or anything in Trey's foot. Unfortunately, even "soft tissue" damage there can be just as bad as an actual bone break. Here's hoping both of you get to feeling better real quick!

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, the stairs are ... exciting. Of course I'm (re-)discovering that everything on crutches is _slow_. Even the simplest things : go to point A, pick something up, go to point B, put it down become:

1) Pick up crutches.
2) Get on feet
3) Adjust crutches properly under arms -- otherwise they chafe something _fierce_
4) Go to point A (at 1/3 normal rate)
5) Tuck crutch under something so one hand is free while balancing
6) Pick something up
7) Find a place to stow or tuck or carry thing involving no hands
8) Repeat step 3
9) Go to point B (at 1/3 normal rate)
10) Repeat step 5
11) Extract thing
12) Put it down
13) Rush to nearby seat to rest single good leg, on which all your weight has been bearing for far too long.

And it's definitely 'call-ahead seating' in the bathroom. ^_^.

But I feel like I'm on the mend now. Hopefully a few more days and the crutches may be honorably retired.
