'Sleep that knits up the ravelled sleeve of care'

Tuesday night - no sleep; the gnawing pain [ie 'the gophers'] was bad enought that I didn't even bother trying to lie down for sleep. On the up side, started laundry early ... really early ... and re-read through 2 of the 'Yellowthread Street' series books ['Hatchet Man' & Gelignite'] and started book #4, 'Thin Air'. Played a lot of 'City of Heroes' on & off thru Wednesday day. [Couldn't get a level for 'Sin's Lady'.] Got 6 hours or sleep in 2 hour batches that night, then the leaf blowers began and murdered sleep. Switched to 'Fallout 3' for most of Thursday and found the alien ship/am doing the 'kidnapped by aliens' content now. 2am and I'll try seeing if that sleep thing works tonight.

Ugh! I know how awful it is to be unable to sleep, and even worse if it's because of pain. *hugs* Hope you're able to get some good and restful sleep soon! <3

Thank you for the sentiment! [Hugs!] I've managed to get more sleep. The naggy pain doesn't go away, so it's worse at night - trying to sleep - because there's nothing to distract me from it. [And thus is sleep murdered .... or at least dragged into an alley and roughed up.]

But it rained and - for whatever reason - listening to rain falling is so very soothing that it helped me drop off. Mmmmmm raindrops. ^_^

And one of the best parts is that the rain settled down and washed away all the dust and -pollens- that wind had been stirring up! [I wonder if THAT has been part of the problem, too! I hadn't thought about that until I just put it into words now. Low grade allergy responses just making the insomnia worse.]

Ah, rain helps me to sleep too! And I'm always grateful for the temporary cleansing it gives to the air, which is usually full of sneeze-inducing crap around here. The allergies might indeed have been making the problem worse. I know they do for me, even when they're at the low levels.
