Electricity = Good!

melcharPower went out yesterday at around 9am; didn't get restored until 5pm. Very, VERY unfun.
The garage door would open, so Trey stayed home. [we listened to updates on the PG&E outage # that pushed the repair time from 10am, to 2pm, to 4pm to 10pm(!)] Sat around and read, mostly. The handset phone didn't work [no juice], but the other 2 phones did. Had batteries in the radio, so was able to have some noise entertainment.
But not being able to get online was ... maddening.
And then, after hearing the 'repairs expected between 8-10pm' announcement, I decided 'heck with it' and started prep for dinner - over a roaring fire in the fireplace. That took an hour - and as I served up dinner [charred and smoky] - the power comes back on. Ironic and annoying.
So electricity is my friend!
