'Jesusween'? JESUSWEEN!?!
You keep your grimy evangelical hands off my birthday you nutjobs*!
For crying out loud, All Hallow's Eve is the night before All Saint's Day, so it already has a religious connotation - for those who really are of a religious persuasion.
[*'nutjob' in reference to any evangelical who supports this ridiculous idea; not to the more rational folk who look at this with the scorn it deserves.]

Date: 2011-11-02 07:07 am (UTC)If one doesn't like this commercial mess, one goes back to calling it All Hallow's Eve and makes it religious again. Go look up what one is supposed to do, and go do it. I won't celebrate it, but at least it will RESPECT the holiday, not make it a stupid statement.
And if they really want their minds blown, there is a great book "All Hallow's Eve" written by Charles Williams that is a great urban fantasy. Note to non-Christians, he was a Christian, it does have strong Christian symbolism. But if you can put up with that, it is an excellent book. But then again, these evangelicals probably won't read it, it does treat the supernatural with scary respect. Williams was like that.
Meanwhile - I do hope you had a Happy Birthday and Halloween.
