This is beyond waste. It was political potlatch with our money! Spending vast gobs of taxpayer cash [low estimate 12 million, high estimate 30+ million] to -persecute*- Barry Bonds should result in criminal proceedings against the ENTIRE legal mob that hared off after him. Sure they can SAY it was about drug abuse and lying to a grand jury - but IMO it was due to Bonds being a successful black guy who broke white guy long-held baseball records.
