Desktop resurrection

melcharSo ... a thousand for the desktop's new parts and I learn that the motherboard and hard drive do not play well with Windows 8. Does anything?
So - with the aid of a delightful long-distance chum who lives in Australia - and 14 hours of work with him - downloading and installing the right -BIOS!- - the correct drivers, updates - my desktop finally works properly again.
