Am in the 3 disc part of FF7 wherein one chases Ultimate Weapon around the world & trying to breed a gold chocobo. Not my favorite parts. I've managed to get a black chocobo thus far, but it's reload city when it comes to getting a gold.

Plus, brined a turkey yesterday and it came out wonderfully well. Planning to do another for Thanksgiving, but I love turkey and have found that brining gives a great flavor. Plus the turkey never dries out during baking. Yum. Leftover turkey is the best!

I've checked the guides and swear there's a lot of luck involved too. After weeding through a lot of wilted [northern] chocobos I finally found a 'wonderful' chocobo, ran it thru the race and have tried breeding it to my black chocobo - rather a lot, actually. [imagine a dozen reloads because I've gotten normal, blue, green & black chocobos, but no golds yet] I suppose I'd have one by now, but I get bored and wander off to go do other mini-quests, earn AP and -try- to get the 3rd level limits for the other characters.

Race 'em. Get 'em to S level. It helps a lot. I am not sure if the guides mention that, but it really does help. It takes some time, but definitely race 'em.

[nods] Yup - all my chocobos are 'S' class. Frankly, chocobo racing is the only way I ever earn GP [so I can eventually buy the 1000 gp & 2000 gp materia] - plus it's how I got enemy away materia [as a prize]. And it funds my ability to fight in the Battle Square [where I got Omnislash yesterday] - and bought the enemy lure materia with extra battle points.
Still don't have a gold chocobo. [it was much easier in other games I've played] I've even tried carob nuts [tho zeio nuts were how I got them last game]
