Adventures with my tooth
Mar. 13th, 2022 01:10 amSo my back left bottom molar needed to come out. The tooth got yanked perfectly on Wednesday. The dental surgeon was superb. Went to him since there was worry the tooth would shatter on removal. Tooth did not crack & came out quickly.
It took about 25 minutes to get the tooth numbed & have the extraction done. That was extremely fast. Gauze was packed in the socket & there has been pain - but & the procedure went excellently well. I just wish there was a painkiller that actually worked.
Swedish genetics means a lack of opioid receptors and most pain meds are opiates. Only NSAID that has ever worked was Zomax - long off the market due to an allergic reaction it caused in folks allergic to bee venom. So toughing out the pain.
However, heckfire. The dissolving sutures the dentist closed up the bleedy socket with were supposed to last 5-7 days. After -2- days they're starting to come out. GDI, I -swear- my weird metabolism does this JUST to annoy me!
But = able to eat real & not just soft or mushy food tonight. Minor triumph. One of the sutures came completely out, but the other 2 threads are sitting there - half in/half out and it's infuriating. I think half the current pain is just from the irritation the remaining sutures are causing.
