Saw 2 DVDs. 'Pitch Black' - for the first time and enjoyed it a lot. Quite a decent little sf film [tho I thought the Caroline death at the end was needlessly gratuitous.

And saw 'The Returner' which is also pretty good. I have a quibble with the last 5 minutes of the flick, in that IMHO there were 3 plausible endings. #1 has the girl stuck in our time because her own does not exist any longer; #2 that she ceases to exist because the time she comes from no longer exists; or #3 that she is recalled back to her own time in a now-parellel Earth, since she could not change her own timeline, but could alter it on another Earth. In any of these conditions, there is no need for a 2nd visit from her [as it could be explained by prior knowledge] - and IMHO this 2nd trip greatly weakens the story.

I got 'Pitch Black' as a 2-pack with 'Riddick', so I'll be seeing that soon enough. I was warned tho [at the BASFA meeting] that it was not as good. So I'll have to see if this is so.

What it is, is MacBeth with really hot guys. (Both Vin Diesel and Carl Urban really do it for me.)
