[sigh] So once again I leap happily forward to attend Baycon and am felled by 'con crud' before the con ends. Why do the sick, germy ones come and stand behind me, snerfling and exporting their 'little friends'? How do they -always- find me at Baycon? [Because I've escaped 2 FC's now without getting sick, knock wood.]

But I feel a little better today - which is MUCH better than Sunday. And I -did- spend lots of time in fanzine lounge Friday & Saturday, so I don't feel I shirked. It's just ... dude don't go to con when you're contagious!

Eep! I'm sending a bunch of "get-well" thoughts your way. People really ought to stay at home, when they're sick, instead of spreading the misery. *sigh*

Mrow. I'm sorry to hear of the con crap that afflicted you. Get well soon! *hugs*

YEs, you shirked not!

I'm starting to feel the effects of the con crud myself, but I held out until now.
You put in a while lot of hours over those two days. I'm probably to blame, putting you in contact with all those sickly fanzine fans!

Ew, icky con-folk. Guess I could count myself lucky for mainly having been to two Star Trek conventions (Ricky's Hyatt in Palo Alto, but you should remember that one), and drive-by Bayconning, mainly to attend a wedding a few years back. I've managed to avoid con-germies by never being on-site for long I guess, but also a bit of fun and folks I haven't heard much of in years, but I guess LJ's a decent surrogate for that sometimes too.

(melchar, I went to middle school with the big dork I'm replying to. Small world, ain't it? And take it easy, maybe next year an antiseptic SprayCon might be in order? ;-) )

Really? And here I find it easier to think of my chums as growing seperately in culture dishes ^_^

So were you both fanboys then, too?

Kinda sorta. One Trek convention at the time, and playing a bit of D&D way back then, when the rules had only recently gone 2nd Edition and noone had played too much before. Cutting teeth on the odd module at times, and attempted marathon sleepless days for no describable reason. Heck, i don't even rememeber what we did most of the time.

There was this one sniffly fan who spent way too much time peering over my shoulder on Friday [while talking about fanzines, getting freebies and watching me play KotOR] - and I think he was the vector. ^_^

But the room was GREAT - and I enjoyed putting in my 'lots of hours' for it! I'd even do it again [germy fans and everything].
