A few firsts [FFX]

Was sick over the weekend. [Sore throat, fever, body aches] I'm getting better, but I was very low energy on Sunday.

So I loaded up FFX and tried dodging lightning bolts and managed it for the 1st time -ever-! [210 bolts dodged - and I got all the goodies and the Venus Sigil.] Yay! I also voluntarily** played a blitzball tournament, won without having to reload/try again - and won Wakka's 'Auroch spirit' technique [so Wakka is now officially a blitzball GOD.]

[** I did a 90 hour FFX game a few months ago that I had to restart, learning that apparently Wakka's reels/techniques only come up _once_ - and if you don't jump when they 1st appear, you lose them permanantly = in my case ignored his attack reels in hour 9 - and NO technique of his ever appeared again. So even tho I don't really care for blitzball and ask Trey to do my tournaments since he LIKES blitzball, I couldn't risk having 'Auroch spirit' vanish into the mists.]

You are a far more dedicated FFX freak than I. I felt Blitzball had no place in a fantasty-style RPG. And honestly, I'm really surprised they never vamped it up and made it it's own game. I suppose that speaks to it being an unpopular feature, though it made it's way into FFX-2.

Who knows... Wakka was fairly disgusting anyway, without me having all that stuff. Auron is my fav, anyway. :)

Disgusting? As a damage deliverer, certainly. ^_^ Plus I rather like his personality, jah? I -really- like Auron the best tho as far as hot-making goes. [squeee]

In game mechanics, I usually manage to get Wakka up to 9999 damage capability first; he's fast and accurate [dang cactaurs!] and both he or Auron benefit best from 'break hitpoint limits' most, since they max out on hit points fastest.

Plus when it comes to the 'great weapons', I find it easiest to get Auron's, then Yuna's. I do OK with the red light/green light cactuar games, so I get Rikku's [and with a friend sphere every time] and can get Wakka's thru blitzball eventually.

But this is the 1st time I've ever managed to do Lulu's myself. And I just am incapable of doing chocobo races, tho I might manage the butterfly race ... eventually.
