Completed 'Bioshock' last night. What a great game. Loved the story, got the good ending [and can intuit the not-so-good ending thereby] and managed to get 46 of the 50 achievements.

[I didn't do 'get a jackpot' at Fort Frolic. I know I didn't get every gene tonic - and I missed getting 1 plasmid. I also didn't 100% research the security system. I'm pretty sure those were the 4 I missed.]

But just ... wow. Gorgeous, beautiful game. The controls felt natural to use, the camera was my friend, I could move/hit/damage just about -anything- I tried to affect. The weapons and powers were fun and it was very challenging to my not-even-a-vague-fan of FPS games self.

But it was such a wonderful experience I may try playing it again on the 'average' setting [and get myself soundly thumped] after I finish 'Digital Devil Saga'.

Actually the "Seriously Good At This" achievement is awarded for completing the game at its highest degree of difficulty. Plasmids seem to be irrelevant -- unless they also count as 'tonics'.

I'd like to recommend Dirge of Cerberus, then, if you're getting into FPS games. It's a FPS/RPG "sequel" to FF7 that features Vincent Valentine (the berserking-monster vampire special character) in the lead role, with (supposedly) other characters from the Advent Children movie making guest appearences.

No, I haven't played the game. I haven't even read reviews of it, but I saw some of the "making of" stuff on the Advent Children DVD and want to see the game being played. Since I can't play FPS and don't live with Tiff anymore, you're my only hope :)

Man, I miss watching Tiff play Devil May Cry. . . all the sexy cut scenes with none of the hard work.

I've put a bid in on a 'Dirge of Cerberus' [since I like Vincent, even if the game was poorly received. And besides one of the review complaints was too many cut scenes ^_^]

I guesstimate I'll play 'Bioshock' again first. Wanna come over and see that? It's a gorgeous game.

[Of course, you would rightly be able to term my style of play as being 'cowardly sissy girl who has to look at everything ... Ooo shiny!']

I'm not familiar with bioshock, so it's kinda ". . . eh. . . " Does it have bishy long haired brooding heroes? That's kinda my benchmark for spectating on ps2 games.

It's a gorgeous game, but is pretty much the anti-bish in gaming. ^_^ I do have a bid in for 'Dirge of Cerberus' tho!
