Had a wonderful day today! Boojumbunn just purchased a smoke cooker and went completely MAD! He bought a -lot- of meat [sausage, brisket, tri-tip, vast quantities of chicken] and cooked it all. ... and served it with spicy BBQ beans, lemon cake, 2 types of deviled eggs - I brought more salty ones and Shadowcatt_x had sweeter ones - various raw veges & grapes that gil_liant & I brought -- and best of ALL the fire-cooked corn on the cob that Shadowcatt_x made.

Vrghr helped with the cooking. He has deific-grade cooking skills & is out visiting from CO. This did mean that almost everything was very spicy for my bland little palate.

But OMG it was wonderful! I tried at least a bit of all the meats, liked the spicy Italian sausage best [yum - eek! spicy! nom, nom - eat grapes to fight off spiciness; repeat] We started gnoshing around 1pm, then had another go-round about 6pm and it was -still- superb.

Genhusky came by in the late afternoon - and there was much 'City of Heroes/Villians' played and talked about. I generated a PC for CoH on boojumbunn's account for the 1st time ever and went thru the introduction. Man, if we ever get DSL, I will be SO addicted to that game. SUCH a wonderful day!

Really glad you enjoyed the cookin's, sorry it was a bit on the spicy side for ya. Tried to make a few of them on the more mild end of the scale, but there was a fair amount of pepper in the rubs.

I'd say boojum's new cooker has been effectively "christened". Booj and Lynn were worried about having way too much meat left over, but that appears to be not the case. One chicken piece left, the majority of the Jamaican ribs, about 1/2 of the sausage, 1 qt of the pulled pork, and about 1/4 of the brisket (less than a pound).

Guess that's a testiment to the 'good eats' quotient of it all.

The sides went perfectly with it! Loved those eggs! The grapes were a GREAT choice to go with the heat of the spices.

Vargr's still full from yesterday. *grins* At least, won't be missing the lack of a meal on the plane heading home.

It was SO nice to have you visiting - AND cooking! I hope you had -half- the fun out here that I had with your visit. You're fun to be around [and I'm sure many wouldn't understand that as we all sit with our different games, playing, and just making comments back and forth: but that's fun to *me*].

Have a good trip back and hope to see you out here again soon!
