What a weekend

Busy weekend just passed. Especially Saturday.
Fridau night tried Persian food for the first time ever. I had eggplant! With a yoghurt topping(!) And it tasted -good-! Also had a stew/soup thing that had chickpeas, beans, grain - and a yoghurt sauce on it. That was also good. Tried bites of everything and could (a) eat everything [ie nothing was so spicy that I couldn't eat it] - (b) it all tasted pretty good. And then boojum treated us all. Very nice dinner - and the company was superb, too.
Then on Saturday went to the FC 06 con exec meeting in the morning and had a -wonderful- breakfast [french toast, eggs, fruit, bacon] made by Squirrel. Was excellent! The meeting went well - and I was completely amused to see cooperative sneaky ferret behavior as they dragged my insole away. Then the FC 05 firing party was very sweet. Got a chance to see folks and chat. And after that went for Japanese dinner with Genevive [while Trey got a burger] - and had the absolutely -best- tempura I've had in years! And after that Trey & I went to the Matt/Kim Zoo party and had a heckuva time. Saw people I haven't seen in years! Hugged a lot of them. ^_^ And thought that Victor was perhaps the cutest person I've -ever- seen in a toasted condition. Heck, if alcohol could only affect -everyone- that way I'd consider it a mandatory sacrament!
Sunday was pretty fun too. Vargr, boojum & Lynn came over and we played 'Wizards'. Of course it then became the game from hell that -would- -not- -end- - and that I spent the first 7 hours of unable to get past 'apprentice' level. Game went almost 9 hours before we gave up on it. But Lynn made cookies and Vargr brought snacks and it was mostly pleasant. Helped that it was a nice rainy day.

Date: 2005-03-22 05:14 am (UTC)And you were very brave to get up and learn belly dancing from their dancer that night. Apparently she's something of a celebrity in the Bay area. Vargr found some web info about her here. http://www.lostprophets.org/y_home.htm
Even has a picture of her at the bottom of the page in the costume she was wearing that evening.
Definitely enjoyed visiting Sunday, and playing Wizards - even if the game DID see to be destined to continue 'til the next weekend. *chuckles* Wuffy also enjoyed helping Trey find a few more of the 'hidden nooks and crannies' in Sly2 afterward. Hope he wasn't TOO sleepy at work on Monday. *chuckles*
It's been a wonderful vacation out here in SJ, visiting everyone and just hanging about. Wish it could go on, or that another trip was closer in the future. Sure looking forward to the next one!
