Busy Sunday

melcharOur Xbox 360 began freezing and then red-ringed yesterday. [sighs] However, when we 1st bought it, we got the 2-year replacement guarantee from Best Buy [that would've been up this December]. It took roughly 3 hours & 2 trips [got a memory card, copied game data when we learned they couldn't do it] then handed in the 20 gig old 360 for a replacement 120 gig new elite 360 & -another- 2 year replacement guarantee and it cost $70 [with another $54 for the memory card]. Very worth while - and good service from the Best Buy guys, too.
So gil_liant also finished 'Mass Effect' yesterday, restarted and is going to try the renegade option this time. And having had a bit more play with active battle games, I restared 'Crisis Core' and finished Chapters 1 & 2 - and worked thru the optional missions to that point. It took 5 tries to beat the Vajradhara Carla [at a rough count it has 30,000 hit points!] - but was listed as a 'very hard' mission. Phew - no kidding!

Date: 2008-10-21 01:20 am (UTC)I'm getting one in 9 days *twitchtwitch wanna play now* and am so excited not only to play a couple of 360 games I'm dying to play, but a bunch of original Xbox games I missed out on not owning one (KOTOR, Stubbs the Zombie, Halo 2 story mode, Jet Set Radio Future, the list goes on!). Mass Effect looks fantastic and I definitely wanna play.
Also wow at beating Very Hard missions in Crisis Core, I always waited for them to be Normal, but I'm a wimp like that. ;)

Date: 2008-10-21 08:27 pm (UTC)And in 'Crisis Core', IMO there should be a rating of 'insanity to try this now'. I was just stubborn for that one mission - and only barrier materia kept Zack alive. I finally figured out that I had to use fire materia at range - and went thru 10 ethers in the one fight. But I can only do about an hour of 'Crisis Core' because it's rough on my left thumb. ^_^
