melchar: sleeping ferret (nap time)

Ack - woke up with a horrible feeling of vertigo. I think it's a right inner ear thing but I've felt so dizzy all day. No fever, though. Felt so odd and bad that I went back to bed [after feeling the cat] and slept until 1pm - refilled the cat and slept until 3pm

Got up and wavered downstairs to get on the 'net. Now it's 7pm, still dizzy. We didn't go to BASFA tonight. This better clear up fast.

And how did the cat feel?
Did I ever tell you that I learned the word "typo" from you? Hopeyou feel better, you delicate flower.

The cat feels entitled. ^_^ The cat, Dusty, is 'she who demands to be fed, frequently throws that up and demands to be fed again'.

I hope I feel better too. It really sucks to feel like I'm on a roller-coaster to nowhere. [Or, as I told gil_liant, 'Now I feel like Captain Jack and know where the rum went'.]

By the way, it wasn't until -today- that I realized I'd made a typo in my original post. Feels like my brain was operating at about -5 INT during the worst of the vertigo.

If you had vertigo....would you stand up on a stool to hang a curtain? Would you bend from the waist a few times to help a child that is sitting on the floor? ...or would one normally pass out from such activities during an episode??!! Someone I know claims to have vertigo off and on, seemingly when it suits her. Her physical movements are not seemingly consistent with a person's who has vertigo, unless it is much more mild than she claims and has a high frequency of on-again/off-again....

I hope you feel better soon. One of my best friends had The Vertigo years ago and I recall taking her to Kaiser cause she couldn't even drive. The RWC Kaiser has a slope of a sidewalk leading up to the main bldg, and I had to steady her as we slowly made our way to the doors.

I tend to be rather skeptical when it comes to the person I referenced in paragraph one, can you guess who it was??? *smirk*

When I was -really- suffering the worst from it all Monday, it felt like I was mentally impaired. I felt too dizzy to eat [and being hungry and nauseous really sucks]. All I wanted to do was sleep.

Yesterday [after a lot of neck exercises and stretching] I felt better - more able to function, albeit with spells of dizziness; instead of constant dizziness. I acted as though I was made of spun sugar [as the saying goes] - and took it very easy.

Today, I feel much better - still having milder bouts of 'the dizzies' - but felt able to shower, do laundry and clean up cat barf. ^_^

There is -no- way I'd do things that put myself or another at risk when feeling even as bad as I did yesterday: wouldn't stand on a stool, wouldn't drive a car - might bend to help a child ... but bend very carefully. And I can guess who you're talking about. ^_^

I had a bout of that. I came home and was so dizzy that standing upright made me motion-sick. I had to literally crawl back to bed (after spewing everything I'd eaten up to a week before) because that was the only way that I could keep the barf-bucket close by.I improved somewhat after two days, then (as you might guess) thought I was fine and went back to my normal routine. Cue the relapse. :-(

Thankfully, I think my hideous nausea was caused by a punched nerve. Lots of stretchy exercise and neck massage and 3 days later and I feel very nearly normal.

But man, I felt down -5 to INT, -7 to DEX and all I wanted to do was sleep on Monday. So dizzy and nauseous I didn't want to eat [even tho I was hungry = awful combination IMO]

[shudders] No want! Please pass the healthy. ^_^
