After 2 months of BP obstruction, failure and criminal buffoonery, why is it NOW that I hear new service stories expressing SHOCK! that BP has been lying from the start about the rate of outflow from their volcano of oil?
Expressing shock and outrage that BP had 800+ violations in comparison to -7- from the next 'worst' company? That BP willfully ignored their safety consultants who were on site? That BP didn't use the safety equipment used internationally [well, everywhere but in the US]? And that Halliburton left out safety equipment that was in the rig's basic design when they cemented the rig?
NPR was on that from the start. NPR & PBS also made noise about the Coast Guard caving to BP's demands to keep the press out of the area and hide information.
But the majority of the 'copy each other' media went along with the BP PR guesses about oil amount being released. 2 days ago was the first time I heard the 'but they lied to us' complaint being aired.
