Just ... why?

OK - so why is it that Republicans in political office can bankrupt the nation, destroy civil rights & threaten the Constitution - all without causing much interest from the general public - but that when Democrats in office fool around THEY stir up a national fervor?

Boojum grins and waves, "Hi Melchar! I thought that I would post." He considers his answer carefully. "First, there is the tabloid news syndrome. People LOVE to watch a scandal. From Soap Operas to Entertainment news, people pay attention to sexual misbehaving."

"But more to the point, I think we must be listenning to different reports and watching different things." The bunny continues. "I hear a LOT of outcry against the Republicans in power, from both sides of the political spectrum. I see Iraq War protesters on street corners and gathering in cities. I see republicans decrying the how much was been getting spent."

"What I don't see is the MEDIA hype... which is different than the actual public response." Boojum sighs, rubbing his head. "At any rate, thats my take on things. People are responding loudly to the things that the Reupblican Party has done in office.. and in my opinion it's been in a much more substantive way than when Clinton was having sex in the white house."
